We have all had or come across feet that have somewhat, if not been entirely embarrassing or unsightly. When dating someone new, this can be particularly embarrassing for some.
We find it such a shame that some people get so embarrassed by their feet. We see plenty of feet, none of which are embarrassing feet to us. Everyone has different feet. We totally understand that many people find their feet embarrassing for one reason or another. No need to worry, we have seen it all before. Anything you have hiding away in your socks or shoes, there is no need to be embarrassed.
People often get embarrassed by
- Smelly feet
- Uncared for feet
- Infected feet
- Ugly looking feet
Smell is probably one on the top of the list of embarrassing feet issues. Rest assured it is incredibly common. So if you are suffering from foot odour then don’t worry, you are not alone; there are things that you can do to minimise the problem. We come across many smelly feet. So we want to help you get rid of this embarrassment. Read more on how to manage this and how FlipNFile can help, in our detailed ‘Smelly Feet’ blog (please insert link).
Feet that are Uncared for
Sometimes we hide the issue or neglect it when we don’t know what to do. People can become embarrassed by their inability to care for their own feet. You do not need to be embarrassed by this. That is why FlipNFile was created to help make your life easier when caring for your feet. We see feet where the nails have not been cut for years. Some have grown thick or even curled over. We have seen calloused and hardened skin that can get so thick until it cracks and even starts bleeding.
As a nail technician, I have seen bunions, thick toenails, ugly feet and fungal toenails.
So if you are struggling to care for your own feet, please don’t ever be embarrassed. A FlipNFile can help you live a much more comfortable life, free of that embarrassment.
In extreme cases of bleeding, infection or other major foot problems, we always advise that you consult with a GP or podiatrist.
Some people get infections like athletes foot or verruca’s and are very embarrassed by their feet. They often feel reluctant to get them out in public, and this can really impact on their quality of life. Exercises like swimming or leisure activities like going to a spa or walking on the beach can be limited if you have sore or infected feet.
It is really easy to pick up foot infections, especially in communal facilities such as pools or caravan parks where you are often walking barefoot, so please don’t be embarrassed.
While verrucas can sometimes be stubborn and quite resistant to treatment, there is usually a solution for people suffering from these. Please note: do not use a FlipNFile if you have open cuts or infections on your feet. Your family GP or podiatrist can give you advice on how to help your feet become free of these infections reasonably quickly.
Many of our foot models apologise when they take off their shoes and socks, saying that their feet are ugly. We’ve even had people who have been reluctant to wear sandals or thongs worried people will see their ugly or embarrassing feet. Well, firstly, everyone’s feet are different. There is no foot that you can show us that will shock us; in fact, we would love to see them. Secondly, there are often relatively quick solutions to the underlying problems that are causing you the embarrassment, FlipNFile is one of them.
People to tell us they have ugly feet and the reasons why they think this range from thick or crumbly toenails, big verrucas, prominent veins, hard cracked skin or bent toes and bulging joints. Don’t worry; we don’t look at your feet from the same angle as you do; we see feet that can be fixed. Bent toes and bulging joints are a bit trickier and to resolve this, some cases may require surgery, but everything else can be helped and managed fairly easily.
Don’t let your feet hold you back by feeling you have embarrassing feet. If your feet are causing you pain and limiting the activities you can do each day, please don’t be embarrassed to go and see a GP or podiatrist as they probably have a solution for you. If they can’t help you, they will refer you to another healthcare professional who may specialise in a particular area.
